NH Retail Version. Because of problems I had downloading, Andre was
kind enough to e-mail me the LWFF CFG tweak file.
I tried it with the retail game, not the Demo, and I can't get Hard-Core
mode selected. I checked the actual CFG file and Hard Core is enabled.
I just don't get Hard Core as a selection to choose in the Setup screen
within the game.
Any help would be appreciated.

I see no hardcore option in the options
file.

enabling stuff. You should know that no matter where you chose to install
NH, it always in stalls most files to c:\program files\hasbro
interactive\nascar heat. That is where the file is located. Options.def is
what most people are confusing for options.cfg. Note, under windows

can see the .cfg extension.

I have enabled hardcore in the options.cfg, but it still doesn't appear. I
noitice
also that I cannot run the game from the shortcut, or the exe file in the
C:\Program Files\Hasbro folder, but I can run a differmt exe file from wher
I installed the game on E drive.
Any thoughts? I will install it on C in my sims partition, so given the
oddball install folder situation, I will do it as default folder.

I wasn't dealing with the options.def file.
But I wasn't dealing with the options.cfg file either. I had inadvertently
created an options.cfg.cfg file (that's no typo). Unchecking the Hide File
Extensions box revealed the error in an instant. Once the file was renamed
properly, it worked like a charm. (And what a charm it is too. Fantastic FF
settings.)
I must be punchy for making a mistake like that. I've been upgrading my CPU and
trying it out on NH. Still haven't successfully overclocked it yet though. At
least the NH issues can be put to bed now. ........Which is where I'm going.
I'll deal with the overclocking settings tomorrow.
Thanks for your help.....Everyone.

No, you don't. For some reason NH isn't as 'critical' to me as GPL...<g>
You've seen my PB laps. Add about 3 seconds for online laptimes. I usually
end up last on the grid, last in the running order of cars that *finish*, and
generally just try to stay out of everyone's way...
In other words, there would be no contest between you and me...

Eldred, Hardcore mode makes the driving even more realistic, and that
also means more difficult to control at high speeds, the cars become
more twitchy.
By the way, at which times do you drive online mostly? I'm quite often
on VROC, but I think I never see you because of the time zone...
Would be fun to meet you and race against you online.
