Hi
Does anyone know of any online resources where I could find an introduction
to
car physics and/or info on programming car physics.

Things like:
http://theory.uwinnipeg.ca/physics/index.html
teach regular physics prgming, and
http://members.home.net/rck/phor/
has a nice text on some aspects of actual *car* physics.
Although you should take the text as an explanation of what goes on,
and not use the formulas like that. Once you want more, you just have
to break things up into forces and accelerations in 3 dimensions.
I'm working on a car simulator right now (in my spare time, which
isn't a lot unfortunately).
Perhaps deja-ing on 'car physics' in this newsgroup will get you the 2
threads of my questions on basic car physics from the last month.
Also very insightful was:
http://www.d6.com/users/checker/dynamics.htm
about physics, translational and rotational dynamics. With useful
formulas.
Note it is still scraping stuff together here & there and putting it
all together yourself. Basic question is how much physics you need;
implementing the forces is a lot of work and theory, and for some
purposes you might do with a lot less.
I'm going for GPL-quality ofcourse ;)
Good luck,
