The Official next version of 3dfx drivers for the V5 should be out late in
September. But there is a privately coded version that "seems" to be rock
solid and fixes one of the major problems with the V5. With these new
drivers, which somebody here pointed us to...THANKS whoever you are
GPL now works in GLIDE using 2xFsaa. The best compromise is now available,
2x means higher screen rez's can now be used and still get that smoothing
full scene aa... I've only tested it with the desktop, here in OE and
in gpl...smooth as butter...Other programs??? ha! ok ok,,,I'll re-dload
the NH demo and double check that as well.

Hmm, never had probs to get GPL going in Glide/2x with the stock
drivers from 3dfx. But then, I only ran 2x during some performance
tests, I actually prefer to play at 4x. :-)

I'm pretty sure my 2x testing included full grid races and no problems
there either. Oh well, now it works for you too so all is good. :-)

2x would work in the testing mode, but when you tried to load a race the
program would lockup as soon as the cars were beginning to be displayed on
the starting grid.
