Hello,
Are GP3 track-surfaces identical compared to GP2's? I guess GP3's
track-surface should look better. Did Crammond use the same type
track-bumps, surface-irregularities, etc., from GP2?
Also, does GP3 contain any different style coding for hills, banking,
etc?, or still similar to GP2?
Thanks much, Matt

GP3 is more detailed. there is banking, there is bumps etc....GP2's code
wasn't fully abe to implement banking and so forth...well it as but there
were problems.

There are certainly more elevation changes than in GP2, but nothing
that deserves to be called 'bumpy'. Unlike for instance the tracks in
F1 2000. Unfortunately in the latter one the bumps and suspension
movements of the car are by far overdone. GP3 OTOH feels rather flat
and sterile in comparisation.
Regarding "bumpiness", I think the best thing would be a compromise
between the two sims, less bumpy than F12K but more than in GP3.
Actually there are a lot of things where a mix of the two games would
make the almost perfect F1 sim ... oh well.

You mean pressing the button during acceleration will shift up, during
braking will shift down? Yes, that "thottle link" is still there.
Why would anyone want to use that though?

Great, thanks!
I'm curious though; for instance, Brazil. Does the main straight
(from the last chicane, on past the pit-entrance and finish line) have
any added bumps (nasty ones) or any other radical irregularities?
In other words, are track-bumps/irregularities (basically) the same
in both GP2 and GP3, or did GP3 track-surfaces get the complete make
over?
I'm really trying to find out if GP3 track-surfaces now more closely
reflect real-life F1 circuits (some F1 track surfaces are very nasty
and very bumpy).
(feel free to not answer the above; it's hard enough to find out what
I want to know, much less form it into a question...<g>).
OH yeah, another thing; Did GP3 keep the ability to Up/Down-shift
with a single button? GP2 is the -only- race sim I've ever seen that
did this.
Thanks, Matt

Thanks for this information. Coming from F12k/GPL, GP2 does feel flat
and "sterile" (that's a good term for it). I guessed GP3 was too, but
wanted to double-check to be sure.
And yes, F1200's "boing'n tires" are completely overblown. I wish my
own car has that much travel (nice, smooooooth ride..<g>).

Yes a "mix" of both (and GPL!) would be great!
Just preference I guess, and lack of wheel/pedals.
