I ran 100% Daytona and x2 and I ran out of fuel after 30 or something laps,
so I know that normal is the correct setting now! LOL :-)

I've just done my first champ race with 'wear' no normal, the tyres were
fine at my stop, I changed them anyway but what 2x etc setting is the
realistic one?

What % of the race did you run? I think wear rate corresponds to race
length (i.e., normal=100%, 2x=50%, 4x=25%, etc. So whatever length you run
this allows the "normal" wear and employ pit strategies). Is this what
you're looking for? Are you saying that you ran 100% length with normal
wear you didn't need tires on the first stop?
I run 25% length and 4x wear so by the first low fuel message my tires are
pretty shot (I get a lot more understeer after having oversteer early on).

Tim,
I asked the same question and Dan said 2or 3 times is realistic(or close to
it). He said he uses 2x so that's what I am using. I think it's actually a
little more severe than simulation, but since I don't run 100% races it's ok
with me.
