1. A 3% Race Length setting at the April Talledega race gives you 6 laps,
but at the October Talledega race you get 10 laps. I first noticed this when
I got to the October race in my first championship season, which was set to
3% race lengths. Both races say 500 miles on the Championship Schedule
screen. This phenomenon occurs in Single Race also. Selecting Talledega from
the Tracks screen will give you the April race, and continuing on will give
you a 6 lap race if you select 3% on the Setup screen. Backing up to the
Tracks screen and clicking on the Event icon will give you the October race,
and continuing on from there will give you a 10 lap race. Setup screen still
says 3%. Both races say 500 miles.
2. On the Race Results screen, I sometimes get a situation similar to the
following: (I don't follow real Nascar race results much, so I'm not
positive this is a bug, but it doesn't look right. )
1st xx:xx.xx
2nd +5.5
3rd +8.8
4th +11.3
5th +15.8
6th +21.8
7th +26.4
8th +28.9
9th +1L
10th +1L
11th +1L
12th +1L
13th +1L
14th +51.8
15th +53.7
16th +58.2
Notice that the 14th, 15th and 16th place results show a time instead of
+1L. I got results similar to this in a race where I was turning 30.xx /
31.xx laps, so these cars were obviously more than 1 lap behind. This only
shows up some of the time. I'm not sure but it might be that the cars that
show times instead of +1L are the cars that are close to being lapped a
second time as in the above example. I'll pay closer attention the next time
it happens to see if this is when this anomaly (if it is one?) occurs. Am I
off base on this? Shouldn't all of them just say +1L?
I thought the developers were monitoring this forum. Anybody got email
address(es) for somebody at MGI that would use this info? I will gladly
forward this info if I knew where to send it.

Are you quitting the race before all of the cars have finished? I believe
we have a bug in the "faking" that we do if you quit before all cars have
actually gotten to finish where they don't report the laps down... if you
let all the cars finish you should get correct results. Not that I'm
pretending this is a solution ;)

Thanks for the info. Haven't had a game crash yet so I hadn't seen that.
Forwarded my original message to them.
The +1L inconsistency happened again, and the results agreed with my
original assessment. All of the cars that showed times instead of +1L were
close to being lapped a second time.

message "ESC to quit, Spacebar for replay" appear at the bottom of the
screen, I am lead to believe that it is safe to perform either of those
actions. If proper race results reporting is contingent upon all cars having
finished the race, then that message should not be displayed and I should be
prohibited from performing those actions until all cars have finished. If
the race is not over until all cars have finished, then the game shouldn't
tell me it's ok to quit as soon as I win, or that "faking" that you do
should be improved to work properly.
When have all cars finished? Is it when all drivers times have been
displayed on those Unofficial Results screens that pop up during the
automated victory lap that kicks in after you win the race? If so, then I
agree that this is not the solution.
Although this should fixed, I consider it to be a minor bug. Not as serious
as the incorrect # of laps at the 2nd Talledega race that I reported along
with this one.
That problem ought to be very simple to correct, probably just changing an
incorrect hex digit multiplier/divisor buried somewhere in one of the game
files.
Both of these are much less serious than the yellow flag problems that have
been reported at great lengths in this forum. No personal observations here,
since I have not tackled flags yet; but if it's as bad as everybody says,
then this is a big problem.
After all that ranting, I would like to add that your presence in this forum
is greatly appreciated, and I applaud your work on what I consider to be the
best Nascar game to date. Hopefully, some of the comments you see here will
lead to improvements that will make it even better.
Thanks for responding. Keep up the good work.
