I have been driving the Lotus almost exclusively, and trying out the
prancing horse leaves me with the impression that the brakes were an after
thought on this car. Were they really that weak in real life? Its kind of
like having ABS though (and no, brake assist is not on).

My,my how 46 gallons of gas can throw you off, hehe...

Actually, I think the Moose-a-rama (er, "Honda") also has very good
brakes in terms of being strong, fade-free, and lock-resistent.

keep it straight...

Hehe... When I first drove the Lotus after driving the Ferrari and Cooper
almost exclusively, my first thought was - "Wow, this thing stops fast!" I
would guess that the Lotus brakes are just more efficient the all the other
cars. I never noticed a big difference between the Ferrari/Cooper/Eagle...

The Ferrari actually has the best brakes but the default setup is just not
right for it as the brake balance is way out making it swap ends a little
too easily.
Nice car on most if you get a good setup.
