Not to take a side in the "GP3 is great, no it ain't" debate, but as someone who has no loyalties whatsoever to the product, I have noticed quite a few things that bother me: - The cars and the scenery are jumping on the screen at the start, it's like a permanent redraw... Same with the cockpit, which must be some sort of virtual cockpit thing, not sure why they did that.. (voodoo3) - The other car's wheels are not moving ! I hate that one, if you follow an opponent close, they're gliding on the tarmac, the tires just don't rotate, or at least give the illusion of rotating, disconcerting ! - The sound issue: Yeah, so only your car makes sound, and supposedly that's all you could hear if you were there. Fine, then why can I hear cars when I am in the pits or after a big accident when my engine quits ? You get to see cars glide by silently (on their fixed wheels, but I repeat myself) - Cars are way too tough.. I am playing in semi-pro mode for now, and I am becoming a professional punter. It's super easy to punt people with zero damage to yourself (dmange enabled), and even if you lose the front wing, it's not that big a deal if you're close to a pit stop or the end of a race(1sec a lap?)... - Where's the pit radio, giving you info on your opponents or yelling "pit now"? Must you wait to see the info once a lap on your wheel - while trying not to stuff the car into a wall ? - Great pits: Those ugly bitmaps guys are really good! They manage to keep all the cars hovering above the ground during practice and will fix anything in 8.9 seconds flat ! (even a missing wheel). Just as ugly as GP2, a real shame... - The Wheel/FF implementation seems to suck, at least it'd have been nice to supply defaults for the major wheels with the game, now I have to experiment with 20 combinations to get max lock and some sort of control...meantime back to the keyboard, just like the old days ;-) That said, I actually like the game as a decent upgrade to GP2, and for now I play with the keyboard since FF is just too weird on my ACTLABS... It's easy to be competitve quickly, so it's kinda fun, but man, this is at best a service pack for GP2 ! Aside from the weather, NOTHING has changed, and if it has, what's the point, it feels the same ! If only F12000 wasn't such a buggy CPU hog, the driving model and feel was better - even with their poor FF !!! Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

I think it's that "gameplay" thing developers like to add. You think GP3's cars are tough, turn a lap in Nascar Heat! Those bad boys are titanium! Hit a wall at 180 and all that will happen is you put a hole in your radiator. :) >- Where's the pit radio, giving you info on your opponents or >yelling "pit now"? I will enjoy waiting for it using GP3 though. :) Great post. I enjoyed reading it! -John "Outlaw" Miller

Whoo hoo, there is more... I decided to do a small championship (minimum race distance), just to get reacquainted with the tracks (hmm, where did argentina come from ? ;-) Totally forgot that one... anyway I finished 3rd in OZ afer bolloxing up my start, then saved the game, reloaded the season ('cause you can't save if you don't quit, great menus by the way, 10 clicks to restart a race) , and presto, I was on pole for brazil without even having qualified the car! I think the game wanted to spare me sight of all those cars hovering in the pits 2ft from the ground ! ;-) Pretty cool, I thought! Not to spit on a gift, I ran away with MS up my .... gearbox until lap 4 when he and 2/3 of the field decided to pit !!! In a 7 laps race !!! Ok, I thought, the sky is dark, maybe they know something I don't.. Nah, they must have realized it wasn't gonna rain because they all pitted AGAIN !!! I won that one by 39 odd seconds (2 pit stops) ! Very bizarre: Free pole position and a2 pitstop handicap - the word buggy comes to the mind of this software QA engineer! I tried the save/reload routine again and this time no problem, so it's not everytime... Oh well, I admit I am having fun and I love the game, but I think a path would be in order, one with sounds too ;-) Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Well done - I had the opposite problem. After qualifying on pole for Monza, I saved the game. As expected, when I reload, I get the pre-race warm up - I find this useful if going back to a saved game to get "in the mood" for that track. However, no matter what I do in the warm up, I'm on the back of the grid come the race. I've checked the lap times and am more than a second ahead of Mika - who gets MY pole position! -- druidh remove THE_MICHAEL to reply. <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8oi85p$c16$[email hidden]... > Whoo hoo, there is more... > > I decided to do a small championship (minimum race distance), just to > get reacquainted with the tracks (hmm, where did argentina come > from ? ;-) Totally forgot that one... anyway > > I finished 3rd in OZ afer bolloxing up my start, then saved the game, > reloaded the season ('cause you can't save if you don't quit, great > menus by the way, 10 clicks to restart a race) , and presto, I was on > pole for brazil without even having qualified the car! Ah, I had that, too, but what you do is go to the next session, so you're sitting on pole, THEN save the race. When you come back, all will be well in the world. -- Colin Harris Bomber Racing: Http://fullspeed.to/Bomber ICQ 25485061 druidh <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:mGfr5.11550$[email hidden]... > Well done - I had the opposite problem.
