OMG! Are you trying to make sense, because if you are, we're going to have to heckle you until you leave the newsgroup forever! <KIDDING, OF COURSE!> Seriously, though, EXCELLENT post -- and something that we all should consider. And, now that we've put THIS issue to rest, I can get back to the great debate over which was worse: NASCAR Revolution or NASCAR 2000 . . . <G> ;-) -- JB P.S. Thanks for giving us all something positive to consider in the great GP3/F12K debate! Interesting you should bring that up JB. As far as the young kids are concerned, do you think Revolution or 2000 would be more fun for them? -Cheers! <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8ohftt$h07$[email hidden]...

Guys, I red so many posts about comparing GP3 and F1 2000. Most posts are so subjective, so I couldnt resist writing this post. In every post I can simply conclude which game the writer prefers (even after reading the first sentence...). He/she is always comparing things that give a little advantage on the game he allready liked more... If you know what I mean. For example..guys who dont give a shit about the multiplayer part, are comparing GP3 and F12000 but are not saying a thing about the multiplayer part.. Ofcourse I can give many examples. (and yes i like the multiplayer part, but thats not the issue now...) Lets be objective. In The Netherlands (and maybe also in other countries) there is a saying "live and let live...". I mean: i think a quite objective conclusion is that the best modern (!) F1 sims at the moment are GP3 and F1 2000. Let it stay like that. I think its good that there is not only one game which is the best. The fact there are two, has got another function. Both developers want to beat each other, by developing a better game in future. So thats good for us, isnt it. My main point is. When you compare: - compare features which both games have got (!!) if you like to make an objective comparison - or only mention what you like on a specific game (if you do this....then dont automatically conclude the other game is crap....) Maybe you find this post crap, but I wrote it anyway.... HJ

Nice post. It kinda reminds of the stuff you see on the F1 & Indy newsgroups. CART vs F1, F1 vs CART, with each side adamantly claiming THEIR series is better than the other. Heck, I'm a RACING fan, I love them both!! RACING fans have much more good racing to watch than either F1 or CART fans. While I love GP3 (no surprise there, I was STILL playing GP2 when GP3 was released!), I'm sure I'd also love F1 2000 if I bought it. As a matter of fact, I probably will buy it at some point. I normally get copied CDs with whatever games or apps I want to try, but I gladly pay for F1 sims because I want my dollars to encourage the game publishers to continue developing F1 sims. My Gawd! Can you imagine what the new sims are going to be like in 5-10 years?! Strap on the virtual helmet, climb into that seat and HANG ON!! Its going to be fun growing old.... :) InViCtuS

Reminds me of the Quake3 vs Unreal Tournament flames. I bought both, play both. I have even more fun that way! Haven't really had time to check out F1-2000 very well. Will be getting GP3 this weekend. buzard "HJ Ventura" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:MRWq5.82447$Kw2.773711@flipper... > Guys, > > I red so many posts about comparing GP3 and F1 2000. NASCAR 2000 really isn't all that bad -- it's just an update of Revolution, I believe (I never played around with NR, but I believe that 2000 is a meaningful update). 2000 is very driveable and it looks good, and the cars drive much more realistically than NFS3, for example, but they have some unnatural characteristics that really ruin it (like constant understeer, for example). All in all, it's a decent NASCAR arcade racer with a realistic appearance, I would say. Like F12000, though, it's a bit of a hardware hog. -- JB In article <xfYq5.1516$[email hidden]>, "Regular Racer" <[email hidden]> wrote: > Interesting you should bring that up JB.
