I had something similar happen. I looked in the registry with regedit
and searched for my monitor. I noticed it wouldn't let me go as high
as I could before. Then I noticed it was reading the inf file wrong.
It set the max at 70.0 for horizontal. My monitor needs 70.24 for the
setting I use. I upped it to 71 in the registry and that fixed it.
If your not up to registry hacking you might want to try powerstrip
at:
http://www.reactorcritical.com/files/pstrip.exe
Check your monitor settings? The beta drivers changed my monitor setting
to default? I unplugged the monitor started up, shut down reattached and
W98 found the right monitor again?

tried removing the monitor and installing it again, all to no avail.
It won't change beyond 85 barier. Any ideas anyone. I also cannot
choose 24 bit depth, only 8, 16 and 32. Strange.
Please help. I need this because the track surface brakes up with 1.04
drivers, and it is on with the new beta (they obviously are beta:)
Thanks
Hello Domagoj,
Please don't take this the wrong way but, why would you want to have
a refresh rate higher than 75-80 Hz? Do you notice flickering on your
screen? If you don't running at a higher rate just steals valuable memory
bandwidth that could be better used for higher rendering performance.
Best Wishes,
Scott

My V3/3K will do 100Mhz on my 21" monitor @ 1024x768. Usually, what
you get as options depends partly on what your monitor will handle.
Higher resolutions typically handle lesser frequencies. for instance,
my monitor (Viewsonic G810) will handle these max refresh rates:
640x400 - 160Hz
640x480 - 160Hz
800x600 - 145Hz
1024x768 - 116Hz
1280x1024 - 88Hz
1600x1200 - 71Hz
1600x1280 - 67Hz
You can make your card go faster than your monitor with various
tweakeries, but you will need a new monitor much sooner that way.

How did you get the Voodoo3 to go to 85Hz+ ? I can only goto 75Hz on my 21"
monitor.
