I have had great success with winroute before...
the first thing you must understand is that you have to "map the ports" on
the winroute machine to point to the machine behind it. Under Advanced
option in drop-down menu.
Explained:
123.0.0.1 is the winroute machine (for arguements sake ;])
192.168.1.1 is the machine you run GPL on (I also assume that you are using
the DHCP service that ships with winroute and you used the default settings
suggested, which gives you the afore mentioned IP dynamically).
So... in winroute to goto port mapping.
Now you have to select from a number of different types.... can't remember
them all off hand.... but UDP/TCP is the one you want.
Then you must set either a specific port... or a range of ports...... first
we will concentrate on the range selection.
So.... you select "range" and input: 32766 [to] 32790 (to be safe)
Now you must tell winroute that any incoming requests on that port must be
directed to the GPL machine -> 192.168.1.1
Voila
Then... you must setup a single port after that.... go through the same
procedure as above... only now select a "single port" and type in : 6969...
point it again to -> 192.168.1.1
that should work.
NOTE:
If you want to run multiple machines on winvroc simultaneously through
winroute.... you must start to tinker with the winVROC settings on each
machine.... and again map ports for that machine...
meaning.... once you select the above mentioned range/single port.... those
ports are now dedicated to the first machine you setup.... you CANNOT use
the same numbers for workstation #2
If you need help with that... reply.... and I'll dig up some notes and help
ya out.
Hope this has helped... anyone else want to add something I might have
missed please feel free to correct me.... I have 29 IPs at my disposal for
sometime on SDSL now... so it has been a while since I needed to use
winroute.

MS Windows is sitting on your hard drive and wasting space. Are you
going to delete it? Can't live without either one.
[then again some people think MS Windows is actually a virus]

Hello,
First let me start off by saying that I am dying for the ACT Lab wheel
to be shipped to my house so that I can finally start playing with GPL
(which is sitting on my hard drive wasting space right now...;-)
I have tried to install WinProc, and after installng it and running it
(v2.1.0.0) I get an error....
The only possibility I see right now (since I am in the right
directory for the game) is that my problem is being begind a WinRoute
server...but I dont have a SOCKS server!
Anybody encountered the same problem?
Michal
Thanks!
Problem is I dont know which port WinVroc uses...I can't forward all
ports on my machine (my roomate will kill me when he loses
Unreal...;-)
Where can I get that info? the config screens in WinVroc do not state
which port it uses.
