Has anyone had any luck "softening" the rear suspension (like the pro's
do) at Daytona and Talladega to achieve more speed?
-Cheers!

I sure have. It's also cool to see the back end actually squat down low to the
track because of the soft rear suspension.

I did exactly that on the NASCAR Heat demo for Daytona and have carried it over
to the full version now. It actually works! I've got the rear end extremely
soft in the shock department, so it has a tendancy to bounce over Daytona and
Talladega's bumps, but the car is f-a-s-t! I believe that it is Tim Wheatley's
favorite setup for Daytona/Talladega. :) So, here's all you need to do: Set
those rear shocks to full soft and then adjust the car from there to get it to
handle to your liking.

The pros "Would" do it except Nascar mandated against it. It was ok in
qualifying to allow the cars to bottom out and drag the tail...but when they
started racing that way as well, the France team moved in put a halt to it.
Didn't the #4 car pioneer that? and the Indy-like exhaust for the plate
tracks?
