The RS Shifter is an add on to the Act Labs Force RS wheel. Generally it will not work with any other wheel. There are ways to get it to work with some wheels but these involve major surgery being performed on the wheel and require the wheel to have 8 free buttons on it. GTX_Slotcar describes how to add hte RS Shifter to an LWFF and a Guillemot Ferrari FF Racing wheel at http://www.slottweak.com. If you are in the market for a new FF wheel I can thouroghly recommend the Act Labs wheel and shifter. It is a superb piece of kit and with the new shifter utility, full gear changes are now available in GPL :) Cheers Phil -- F1 GPL Handicap: +50.79 secs F2 GPL Handicap: +144.80 secs http://www.youpies.co.uk

I asked if it would work with my LWFF, but someone from ACT Labs told me that it would only work with their wheel. You can use it in a slightly altered way, see here: http://www.slottweak.com/lwff.htm Andre PS Please let me know if you do get it working properly with your wheel... >grtngs, >hgrm

If it doesn't work rightaway, I am not going to spend Hfl 230 / $93 to buy that shifter. Maybe I should be the wheel + shifter. Although it is expensive to get it here (more than $ 70 p&p and taxes), it is worth considering... grtngs, hgrm > > >grtngs, > >hgrm >

Yesterday I talked with someone who had both the wheel and the shifter. He was very happy with the wheel (ff version) but the patch for using the shifter in GPL doesn't seem to be perfect yet, you can't switch from 5th to 1st immediately. Andre

Visit GTX Slotcar's site if you're really determined to fit the RS Shifter with a different wheel than the Act Labs. He has a couple of really cool how-to's on this issue... http://www.slottweak.com WayCool "Andre Warringa" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > On Sat, 2 Sep 2000 17:48:44 +0200, "Han Monsees" > <[email hidden]> wrote: > > >If it doesn't work rightaway, I am not going to spend Hfl 230 / $93 tobuy

If that plan for a 13th month payment in educations is accepted, I'll order them both. I'll wait until 'Prinsjesdag'. (this must sound completely stupid for the non-Dutch...) gtngs, hgrm

IRL, I (almost) never downshift directly form fourth of fifth to second. I always go via third to do some engine-braking. Maybe I have been playing GPL to much... grtngs, hgrm
