Just saw the adds today for Codemasters latest effort. I don't know about
the world-wide release, but the title of World Touring Challenge has been
changed to "Jarret & Labonte"
Now the real problems... The Jarret and Labonte names are well known in
American racing, but these are NOT the Winston Cup stars...not Terry, not
Bobby, NOT Dale ...but thier sons....yes...Codemaster is paying a couple of
ASA drivers to headline the American release of thier newest driving title.
I "believe" it is playstation only ...Here's hoping... Part of the
preview text claims Codemasters realized Toca 2 was tooooo difficult so they
dumbed down the driving mode. Yikes!
The cars are still Euro/Asian Touring cars...NOT hefty American
Cars...Thats no problem,.. but to attach names like Jarret and Labonte to
the title, American buyers will be expecting Nascar type cars like the Ford
Taurus and Monte Carlo's. I think this is a Rather poor marketing decision
and almost a dishonest one.
