For some reason I don't seem to have these in the game. I have all the detail cranked up and everything. I know it worked in the demo. Does anyone know what may have happen to these featues on my end? I know that it is in the game, a buddy of mine sent me a pic of my car during a race tonight. I have a PII 350@416 , 192 megs of ram, and a Diamond Monster Fusion 16 mb vid card. I have used both the 3dfx referance drivers as well as the manufaturer's drivers. Nothing seems to work. Is this a D3D issue? Any info would be much appreciated. And yes I know, I need a new video card soon. Thanks again. -DElvr P.S. I have also included my options.cfg if that helps. version 2 [CONTROL] abs_braking 0 airlift Key_SPACE auto_clutch yes auto_reverse no auto_shifting yes bg_update yes brake_dead_spot 0.150000 brake_overshoot 0.100000 brake_speed 0.900000 braking Joy Down clutch Button 5 downshift Button 7 e_brake ff_deadband_width 0.150000 ff_inband_damping 0.300000 ff_inband_spring 1.000000 ff_outband_damping 0.100000 ff_outband_spring 1.000000 ff_torque_gain 1.000000 force_feedback yes four_speed no free_g1 Button 6 free_g2 Button 7 free_g3 Button 1 free_g4 Button 2 free_g5 POV Front free_g6 POV Left free_reverse POV Right free_shift no game_pad no help Key_SPACE horn look_back look_left Button 6 look_right Button 3 nonlinear_steering 0.000000 race_camera 5 reverse Button 4 smoothing yes steer_dead_spot 0.100000 steer_left Joy Left steer_overshoot 0.100000 steer_range 1.000000 steer_right Joy Right steer_speed 1.000000 throttle Joy Up throttle_dead_spot 0.100000 throttle_overshoot 0.150000 throttle_speed 0.900000 traction_control 0 upshift Button 8 yaw_control 0 [GAME] auto_drive yes car_index 0 career_slot 0 custom_strength 100 force_legal_pitspeed no gc_type 0 ghost_type 0 opponent_strength 2 preferred_dash 2 race_type 3 realism 2 rtp_driver 10 rtp_realism 0 rules 2 time_of_day 0 wear_factor 3.000000 zone_realism 0 [GLOBAL] event 0 hardcore_enabled yes identity 0 no_video no pack_size 15 player_chassis Pontiac player_chassis0 Stock player_chassis1 Stock player_chassis2 Stock player_chassis3 Stock player_name Player player_name0 DElvr player_name1 1ruddfan player_name2 Wheelman21 player_name3 Player3 player_number 18 player_number0 3 player_number1 141 player_number2 8 player_number3 18 track Daytona [GX] detail_level 4 draw_distance 2 effect_level 4 fix_s3_bug no fov 130.000000 high_detail_car no mipmap yes mirror 2 mirror_fov 82.000000 shadow 1 skids 1 smoke 1 specular 0 vertex_damage no video_mode 3 [MULTI] conn_speed 3 custom_strength 100 ded_srv_mailto gc_type 1 iroc yes last_find_host 24.94.41.14 net_protocol 0 opponent_count 0 opponent_strength 2 qualify no race_type 3 realism 2 reversed no server_name delvr.3stouts.net srv_max_ping 0 srv_min_ping 0 time_of_day 0 track 13 wear 1 [SOUND] cd_audio yes compatibility_mode no effects_volume 0.750000 fidelity 1 mixer 1 music_enabled no music_volume 0.000000 quality 2 skid_volume 0.950000 spotter_volume 0.800000

Sorry, that has nothing at all to do with high detail cars. you should get smoke, dirt, and fire with all details turned down and effects level cranked. Just a quick update guys. For some reason the effects detail was "stuck". After reinstalling DX7 3 times and coming <scrunches fingers together> this close to reformating I desided to manually adjust the sliders. DUH!!!! It's a good thing I couldn't find the Win98 CD sleave or I would have gone though with that. It seems that the adjustment slider was sort of stuck at the Max setting. It took 3 clicks to the left to get it to move at all. But after that I was all good. Smoke, Fire, Dirt is all there. Thanks for the helps guys. -DElvr "Raymond Lawler" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:qGks5.8408$[email hidden]... > For some reason I don't seem to have these in the game.
