Was wondering if anyone has come up with a really good braking system for
GPL.
I have a microsoft wheel and ive tried the squash ball but im not happy with
it.
Ive come up with a diff system.
Instead of putting somethnig UNDER the pedal which restricts movement, ive
hooked up a large spring on the top of the pedal going to a railing on my
table.
Now i have full travel and resistence going down but most importantly there
is force pulling on the pedal which makes it easier to moderate braking.
Problem is that in a real car you moderate braking through pressure while
with our pedals we moderate through travel.
That is totally different and thats what i would prefer since im still far
from happy with th braking because gpl braking is such a bitch.
I once tried the hyperstim braking and it was like a car, totally awesome,i
was wondering if anyone has come up with something like that.
Hi
I use a Hyperstimulator.
The brake pedal is movement sensetive.
But the movement is smal, and the spring is very hard.
I like it.
Trye do something simular.

I have found some sort of solution by inverting the pedal unit.
So now the way pedals travel is similar to the real car. No more
stretching
the toes. However, I had to construct the frame under table, that sits
under the table and has vertical element to which the pedal unit is
attached. This also switches throtle and brake pedals, however it can
be fixed by calibration. I was playing GP2 at the time I've made that
modification and it gave me 0.2-0.3 right away. Besides, feets are
not getting tired in the long races.

I got a really simple Thrustmaster Sprint setup, but I've managed to
'tweak' it really great. The pedals on it are small, which is really
welcome since it enabled me to just wedge a (properly cut) eraser rubber
under it, and teh whole pedal setup is leaning on a small plate that is
itself leaning on the wall, so there is abslutely no problem with
slipping the light pedal unit.
Since the travel on the brake is really small, now I basically modulate
it with pressure directly. I need to press really hard to push it to the
bottom, while it is really light for small travel. Only the accelerator
could use a bit more travel, but I can live with the way it is now.
Plus, the it has additional two paddles on the wheel that the original
setup program doesn't use, but if you make a customized controller setup
you can use that as clutch.
I think what I've got is pretty neat, especially considering how cheap
it was. I know it's not of much help to you, but I feel kind of smug ;).
