Anyone tried taking off your headphones and running laps without that 100db
angry beaver strapped to your head?
I tried several laps tonight with the headphones on the table next to me so
I could just barely hear the highest rpms, and it was very refreshing. I
was going as fast or faster than with full sound, felt like my concentration
on the line I was taking was increased, and my stress level at the end was
much much less than before. Highly recommended !!

I've tried this but personally dont like it. I use the sound to tell me alot
of things about how my car is handling, how the engine is running, if the
brakes are locked, etc. Personally I loose concentration because I hear things
other than the sounds in GPL (radio, tv, other people). But then again each to
his own...
Chris
uhhhhh, headphones???

Though Beethoven, Mozart and Vivaldi all have their moments I tend to feel
that Greig comes out on top when it comes to accompanying that sub 9 min lap
of the ring that you are so proud of!

And during a race try Carl Orff's "O Fortuna". Or, given my antics during
a race, maybe the theme from "The Benny Hill Show". :)

Nice background music for a race start could be provided by Gyrgy Ligeti's
opera "Grande Macabre": it opens with an introduction played on twelve car
horns.

ROTFLMAO! I never thought about it quite that way but you are more
accurate
than you know about my "antics" as well. Thanks for the best laugh I
have had
all week. :)

Headphone here too. Only the s..t plug-socket drives me crazy (cannot get high
quality ones here).

I usually use my speakers instead of my headphones because my speakers are damn
good. :) They're the Boston Acoustics that came with my Gateway, but they
sound better than most smaller stereo speakers IMHO!
