I use a V3 3000 and cannot check the " texture in track" checkbox.
With a wet track there is a lot of ugly pixellation in the track surface,
grass next
to it is nice and smooth. Especially visible in cameraviews.
Some of you guys with 32 or 64 megs on graphic card have the same problem?
Can you check the "texture in track" box?
Knudse.
That's just the V3. There'a a comparison shot of wet weather on a V3 3k and
a GeForce 2 Gts, I tihnk it's on f1gp3.it but I'm not too sure.
There's no ffix for this, because it's probably caused only having 16 MB of
gfx RAM.

But Im
getting black jagged areas popping up all over the track in certain spots.
I've tried I've tried different detail levels and resolutions. I can get
rid of them.
I'm using a V3500 on a PII400, 256ram
Is there a know fix for this?

Don't ask why, it just works, ok.

Actually I found on the GP3 website FAQ that I
should add a line "detailmap=0" on the cards.txt file in GP3 directory. It
said it lowers the track detail. But it was better then the jagged black
marks. It works well enough like this, that I don't know if it would be
worth changing my driver. Might wind up causing problems elsewhere with my
luck. Thanks for the quick replies though.

I had the same problem but I changed to the latest driver for my V3 3000
and it was OK. Looking great IMO.

for some reason it messed up my Act Labs drivers. And I had a heck of a time
getting them back to normal. But finally all is working ok now.

turned off (in hardware mode at least). I get the same thing on a GeForce 2
GTS (32 MB), and I used to get the same thing when I briefly had a V5 5500
AGP. The box should be greyed out.
Having said that, I also tried GP3 on a V3 3000 (after I sold my V5 but
before I got the GF2) and the track surface didn't look the same as on the
V5/GF2, even with the 1.05 drivers. The 1.05 drivers fixed the
black-triangles problem, but still the track surface looked way better on
the V5/GF2. It's kinda like the texture-layers aren't blending properly.
Also the wet track didn't look right on the V3 either. GP3 and V3's don't
seem to get on too well.
Also there's no way to turn on filtering on the track surface (on any card).
