Logitech FF packed a sad today..died during GPL... not sure what's gone wrong yet since I did not bother opening the wheel housing..but it rattled! Had to leave it untouched for the warranty thing. I'm not happy with the warranty system.. but that's life.. they tell me it may be a week or so before I'll know what the problem is! the damm distributor is less than 1 mile from my house but refuses to deal with the general public! (Tech Pacific) this is even after following the warranty claim to the letter. I had to take it back to the store where I brought it from. (Harvey Norman's) told the tech there what happened , he didn't even bother to open the case and said he'd have to send it away. He did say that it could be a case for replacement though. ( I don't care..fix or replace is all I want, but quick) Customer service eh! It would have taken all of 2 mins to open it up and see whether it was terminal or not!. Funny thing is that you go into a store like this and stand still for 2 secs beside new products for sale and they are tripping up trying to get to you! Different story when you go to the service department for assistance. In my case there was one other customer in there being dealt with. The technician , a woman clerk and up to 2or other staff members coming and going and not one of them even looked at me and my box . It was only about 5 mins or was it 10 before the tech acknowledged me. I've spent thousands of $'s in that store . If I was their boss I'd give them all a good kick in the arse! Oh well , at least I had the sense to buy an extended warranty at time of purchase. I increased it from 12 months to 36 months.. thank @#$% for that.. as it was 1 week shy of being 13 months since I brought it! It's off my chest now! :(

Well Stu, the bright side is that you might end up getting a better wheel. When my Logitech died (cable FF system packed it in) and was sent off for repair, I got back a different refurbished unit. I don't know if maybe they take a little more time & care when re-building units than when originally manufacturing them, but the replacement was noticably smoother and gave more of the subtle FF effects in GPL. Here's hoping you have the same luck! ...Klinn "Stu C" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8p5036$8av$[email hidden]... > Logitech FF packed a sad today..died during GPL... not sure what's gone > wrong yet since I did not bother opening the wheel housing..but itrattled! > Had to leave it untouched for the warranty thing. >
