I have never seen this movie. Is it possible to order it online?
I doubt that my local video store would have it as my area isn't
exactly a hotbed for auto racing. (except perhaps drag racing)

You should fast-forward to the racing scenes, the rest of the movie IS
dull :)

You can get it at Duke Video, but try one of the search engines -- I
think you can find it cheaper at one of the MGM outlets. Speedvision did
a great version that was intercut with "the making of" snippets,
including interviews with John Frankenheimer, Jim Garner, and Jim
Russell (of the Jim Russell Driving School, who trained the actors and
prepared all the cars). I don't know if this version is available
commercially -- I rather think not.

Well, I could send him a copy if he doesn't use NTSC. But maybe I
break the law when I do that? :-)

not. I know it has the trailer on the tape. Its two tapes and the racing
action is wonderful. The story is dull. I'll check on the Making of part
when I get home this evening.

MGM-UA released it under their "Screen Gems" collection as a two-pack
set. This includes the original theatrical trailers, incorporating the
overture to the movie. Available in the US wherever the "Screen Gems"
collection is sold, I imagine. The chap who sent me my copy had no
problem in sourcing it.

You might be surprised about your local video store.
In any case I got mine from buy.com for $18. Got LeMans for $7.
