I'm not very GP savy... so what is the noise that
sounds like someone slamming a barn door when you
downshift in GP3? I only hear this when viewing
the car externally.
Thanks,

Before you buy.
It's fuel burning/popping in the exhaust pipes. It happens when drivers back
off the throttle. If you ever go to see F1 at a track (go to mid-week
testing, it's free) you'll hear all sorts of noises from the cars that you
never hear on TV

> David C My first and only live experience with big league racing was the CART race
at Portland a few years back. I was amazed first at the
backfires..especially the poor Toyotas...seems they were being whipped hard
to keep up. AND the sound of the WIND. I had seats at the end of the main
straight and I could hear the WHOOSHING wind before the car was visible or
the engine noise.
I can only guess the sound was the air being compressed under the tunnel
body and over the wings. Really impressed me.

say the GP3 sounds are poor. But what do they know? They're not real fans, like
myself. I've stood on the exit of becketts as mikamikamika hutled past in his
Mclaren on a cold, damp Feburary morning.
Joy!

Spectators are restricted to the Stadium area for testing.
Then again, last time I went I climbed the fence to walk all the way down to
club.

It sounds a little like the EXTREMELY loud POP when the F1 cars
downshift and unspent fuel is ignited at the tip of the exhaust
I like it
