The game is fairly much an arcade game , unfortunately for me.
I am still looking for a off-road sim, but the game is pretty good otherwise.
Nice straightforward menus. Very nice terrain graphics and graphics in general.
The demo did not crash, thats always a plus. Looks like it will be a very nice
offroad arcader.

I played it for about 10 minutes and all I can say is that is seems
like a near carbon copy of Monster Truck Madness 2 with normal
vehicles.

It's a completely new game from top to bottom.
It's hard for it not to resemble MTM2 because they are both off road racing
games.

The demo you tried is a public beta demo. A regular demo with the final code
is supposed to be released later on.
No, it's not a pure sim, but it's not pure arcade either. There will be
about 70 real SUV's and trucks whose physics are designed by the
manufacturer's specs. You can also customize them in career mode with dozens
of performance parts which turn them into full blown race vehicles.
The only thing not realistic is the setting for center of gravity. This will
be able to be changed though to whatever setting you like by PC and Mac
users. The gravity is set lower by default for gameplay purposes because
SUV' s with big tires and high suspensions are easy to roll and could
frustrate a lot of gamers. If you set the center of gravity to a realistic
setting, then it's a sim IMO.
John O' Keefe (VROC) is the producer and the multiplayer is excellent.
Graphics are awesome, tracks are great, and the beta testers will also
design some tracks to be released when the game goes on sale. It's supposed
to ship with the editor too.

Funny, it doesn't look anything like Testdrive Offroad, so I guess the
similarity is not rooted in it being an offroad game, then.
Everything about the game, from the driving model to the scenery and
the way it looks and even some of the sounds appear to come straight
from MTM2. The similarity is remarkable.
It may very well be new from the ground up, but they could have saved
themselves a whole lot of coding because it drives and plays exactly
like MTM2 with slightly different vehicles. At least the demo does,
anyway.

The Papy sims all have a similiar look.
The Ubi Soft sims have a similiar look.
The NFS series all look similiar.
It's not unusual for games from the same developer to look similiar.

MTM2 is much better in my opinion. Better driving model, force
feedback, more interesting tracks, and overall more lively
environments.

Is it also not unusual to have different sims from the same developer
feel exactly the same when they are supposedly completely new?
It's the same game as far as I can tell.
