Hi,
my old Thrustmaster Formula one has died.
(after several repairs, theres nothing more to do).
Now the big question :
What should I buy ????
With or without FFB ???
How is the processor occupancy ??????
Please give me your thoughts and knowledges about these wheels:
MS FFB WHeel
Logitech Wheel
Thrustmaster Formula Pro Digital (or Nascar Pro)
Guillemont Ferrari WHeel
Importadress for the Act-Labs in Germany (Price)????????
Thanks a lot
Marcus

You wont like the pedals on the Nascar Pro Digital, I dont. There doesnt
seem to be enough throw on the brake pedal. Im trying to get my T2 pedals to
work with it but no luck yet.

my opinion* the Logitech is clearly superior. The others are the Ferrari
from Guillemot (which I own), which is a mixed bag with some cheap
components and poor software, the Microsoft FF (USB), which caused *big*
slowdown in some games (and was returned for a refund) and the Thrustmaster
FF, which was very notchy and has numerous design flaws (although they may
well have been fixed by now) and was also returned.
The only drawback with the Logitech is getting used to the pedals, but I'm
completely happy with it now. It also has very low CPU usage.
btw, I think Act Labs may well ship their wheels to Germany through their
international site.

I just saw the new GP FF wheel on
display at CompUSA, and WOW... does it look and feel like CRAP!.. It feels
very cheaply made, and the red grip for your hands, which was all around the
LWFF, is nearly absent. The wheel is now almost all smooth black plastic, with
just some of this grippy substance in a few strategically located spots.
Moreover, the buttons now are much harder to reach and the paddle shifters are
gone -- replaced with buttons.
The only plus that I could see is that the pedals look like they might be
better than the LWFF pedals. They're bigger and seem to have more of a range
to them.
Please note that these observations are strictly from looking at it and pushing
the pedals, buttons etc in the store. It was NOT hooked up to a PC. My
impression is that, if you want a good Logitech wheel, get the LWFF, if you can
find it. After they're gone, Logitech wheels will no longer be the choice for
discerning simmers.
For myself, I'd like to get a hold of another LWFF (already have one), as a
backup for when this one eventually goes. Anyone know of a URL for buying
refurbished (or better yet, new but low-priced) LWFF's?
