I hope you guys'll have some mercy on a newcomer to the group. I hear you can be pretty hard...and very helpful...so here goes. I'm getting hard lockups just a few minutes into my races with GP3 - it's that simple. I have a brand new computer...an P3-866, V5 5500, Soundblaster Live!, 256 MB memory and latest drivers. I haven't tinkered with any setttings for the video card (or sound card for that matter). I also haven't tried various video settings in GP3. I thought maybe my experience was a known problem with a known solution, so I thought I'd try here first. Any suggestions? Thanks. Steve
Do you have 4x FSAA turned on for your V5 because this can make GP3 crash? With the V5 5500, GP3 needs you to run in Single Chip mode. It won't work with both chips. You'll find the setting in your 3Dfx drivers somewhere, but I dunno where cos I haven't got one.
