I see they have a refurbished Logitech ff wheel - anyone use this ?
And I see that the new one is cheaper, shouldn't it be the other way around
?
Anyone find the refurbished one cheaper than $98 at computergods.com ?
If so, let me know.
Thanks.
I bought a refurb'd LWFF last year for $79. I believe refurbished goods
are often BETTER than retail. They are repairing the items rather than
rushing them through an assembly line process. My wheel has seen thousands
of laps, mainly roadcourse and still works great...(knock on wood)

As for the new one being cheaper, that is probably the new model just
released a short while ago. It's cheaper than their original wheel. There
have been a few messages in this n.g. comparing the two. Although I haven't
read of a definitive back-to-back test, the general feeling seems to be that
it feels cheap(er) and plastic-y compared to the first one. Since it is
gear-driven v.s. cable-driven, some have mentioned a 'notchy' feel.
My Logitech is getting worn, and when it finally dies I'm tempted to try the
Act Labs wheel. If your budget can stretch up just a bit, you may want to
check the reviews etc of that one too.

Just wondering, is the ACT Labs wheel gear or cable driven?

cliked in and got one of 2 for $79 I thought 130 would be the winning
bid..hehe (I had to explain to my wife how I spent 80 bucks...)

As far as I have heard, it is belt driven, and therefore can be very
strong. It is a belt like a timing belt on a car type!
Domi
I just got a refurbished wheel yesterday from JUSTDEALS.com for $59 with no
shipping costs...
Can't beat that.

In my estimation though, it more closely resembles
a Maytag dryer belt ;-)

AFAIK wheels only wear out at the bushings.
You could think about a BB-conversion.
