I heard they were coming out with a new version, is it out yet. The
pictures I see online and in my gaming mags from the past show an all red
wheel. The one I just saw in CompUSA in a local store just had the hand
area in red. Is this the new one ? Is it better than the old. I heard the
pedals are supposed to be better.
I am looking to get one, just want to be sure I get the right one.
Thanks.
The one with a small are of red is new. I've heard it's disappointing. The
pedals do look better but it's missing paddle shifters and that full red
softness of the original. Since the original was $150 and this one is $100
it seems clear that they cheaped out to hit a lower PP. Sad. I think ACT
LABS is the only one committed to sim drivers.

I saw one of the new wheels on display at CompUSA yesterday. Without actually
using it, I'd have to say that it is MUCH less solidly built that the LWFF. The
buttons are hard to reach and the paddle shifters are now buttons.
The pedals look like they might be fine. There pretty big and have a pretty
long "throw" to them. But I feel that this new wheel is definitely a step
backwards overall. Its obvous that they wanted to produce a less expensive
model for the masses. I only wish that they would also consider serious simmers
and either leave the LWFF as an alternative or even improve it. (The pedals).

The new pedals have
a more conventional pivot action instead of the straight up/down of the old
version. The old "all red" wheel was completely rubber coated, the new one
just feels like plastic.

Saw it at Best Buy yesterday for $99. The Pedals look like real pedals, but
I'm holding off until someone else guinea pigs this one :)

The main reason I want to replace my MSFFW is because I can't stand the
Gear's.
