The Need For Speed stole ideas from 4D Sports Driving!

1 post by 1 person · 10 Sep 2000 - 10 Sep 2000

In The Need For Speed, when you made a change in gear, a small imagine of a gear stick would appear in the lower right hand corner. I remember thinking, at the time, that this was totally original, as I hadn't seen it being used before. I was somewhat surprise then, to find that the idea of the animated gear lever was stolen from 4D Sports Driving, which I downloaded just a few minutes ago at the Gaming Depot. It uses the same system to represent changing gears. Also, have you noticed how many of the cars in 4D Sports Driving appear in TNFS? They seem to have copied several of the elements from this older sim. Is there a chance that whoever worked on 4D Sports Driving also worked on TNFS? Best regards, Moon-Watcher
