I'm about to build a new system mainly for gaming, as the old system is going to my son for school, etc. The only two sims that I play are GPL online, and Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2000. But I'm planning on purchasing WSC and maybe Nascar 4. I've settled on a AMD K7-800, & 128MB of SDRAM. What is the best graphics card for this combination ? I've thought about a Voodoo5, but they seem to be more trouble then they're worth, and my computer skills are average at best for a 52 year old. I've had great results with a Creative Labs PCI 128 sound card, but I realize that it's kind of dated. Is 200 watts enough or should I opt for a 300 watt power supply ? Please respond off line as well. Thanks, Joel Willstein [email hidden]
Hi..... Same age group....Anyway dont bother with Voodoo 5, I have a Voodoo 3 2000 very cheap now...put a fan on the heat sink and overclock the hell out of it..!!!! you should look to some of the popular 3DFX download sites to get Gary Petersons Overclocking utility...if you cant find this utility let me know and I'll send it you. Also I have just upgraded to 1Gig Athlon from an overclocked Athlon650 @ 800mhz and you will really need a 300 watt PSU...'specially if you run extra fans and stuff a 230 watt just wont cut it IMHO... Hope this helps leesee "Joel Willstein" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8pgic4$8e6$[email hidden]... > I'm about to build a new system mainly for gaming, as the old systemis

My V5 has been a very easy to use card. No problems...other than one driver upgrade. It is a very good card especially if you use older sims like N99 or SCGT. BUT You mention WSC and N4. These will take advantage to of Transform and Lighting(t&l) that will supposedly speed up the graphics. For now the best choice is the Geforce2 gts or whatever the latest nvidia product is now. Either card will only perform as well as your cpu so don't cheap out there. dave henrie "Joel Willstein" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8pgic4$8e6$[email hidden]... > I'm about to build a new system mainly for gaming, as the old systemis
