When I asked for Monza to be banned, I was talking about excessive VROC
races hosted there...
NOW they're talking about getting rid of the REAL Monza from Formula
One!! This would be a disaster! Add to this the fact that the USGP isn't
live, the races being are (mostly) dull, dull, dull and I start to
wonder what it's all about!
Oh, and after spending all my GPL "career" in the Lotus (19 months) I've
just switched to the Cooper and having a LOT of fun!
So in conclusion, F1 is dull, Cooper's are exciting!
Rob
Its about time more people started driving coopers. I started attacking the
track with my cooper a month or 2 back and it has been a blast ever since.
Online races are great too. It feels real good to beat lotii and eagles at
spa or monza.

After 30 laps it still
brakes in a straight line, whereas the Eagle and Lotus start swerving all
over the place, presumably because of uneven tyre temperatures, although
that could just be dodgy default setups. It's also nice to be able to
attack the track instead of apologizing to it in the Lotus.
A seperate GPL Rank listing for Cooper only drivers would be nice :)

Tried it, hate it. Why on earth does anyone consider this horrible car fun?
What sort of times are you getting at Spa and Monza? And more imortantly
(for me) how are you possibly supposed to be competitive at the Nurburgring
in a Cooper?

So you have fun racing against the other Coopers/BRMs/Hondas for 10th place
instead. You can get some great racing further back in the pack.

win once in a while? I'm no Greger Huttu, and I don't see myself
wringing enough out of the car to get a good finish (in the Cooper or
BRM) which I consider the whole point of racing.
And the Cooper is such a pain to drive; the engine doesn't have the
smoothness or driveability of, say, the Weslake, Cosworth or Repco, and
the geometry causes the car to handle like a minibus. I applaud you for
sticking up for it, but I question your sanity <g>

You need to get some decent setups. The Cooper is down on power admittedly
but it's probably the best handling car on the track with a decent setup.
Nothing is beter in the brakes department either.
In the right hands, a Cooper is good for 1:28 at Monza. It's nice to see
those Green beans smoked every now and again.

If I was to list the cars in order of difficulty to drive for me it would
be-
(easiest)
Cooper
Honda
BRM (not sure though, haven't driven it much)
Brabham
Eagle
Ferrari
Lotus
(hardest)
I presume you wouldn't agree with that :)
I also suspect loads of Ferrari drivers would disagree as well.
Maybe it's because I use the default setups?

Eagle
Brabham
Honda
Cooper
Ferrari
Lotus
BRM
I suspect i find the Eagle easiest as it's my favourite, and I've probably
done more laps in that than all other cars combined. Therefore, my list is
going to be biased somewhat, and based on how easy other cars are to drive
compared to the Eagle. The Ferrari is a pig with whatever setup, The lotus
demands rapt attention, and the BRM's effort-reward ratio is too low

It's about making great wads of money. Some of the pigs are more equal than
others.

F1 isn't dull.......It's dead. Agreed about the Cooper though <G>

I used to drive the Eagle all the time before I discovered the Brabham,
which is the car I would 'generally' try to do PB's in (depending on the
track of course). I race the Cooper purely for fun :)
Basically, my times are way off the sort of times you can do (with a rank of
1.03), so I'm not gonna win any races on Vroc anyway, so I may as well just
use it as training and pick a car I enjoy driving.

compensate for my numrous errors:-) The Cooper does't seem to have such
a good low end. And the other reason I don't like the Cooper is that
it's ugly <bg>

I am currently running fourth in my leagea and that is mostly due to two
starting line disasters. With seven races done my Cooper and I were first.
