Autosport reveals that in the heat of the moment at Monza, Schumacher considered hanging it up -- or is it just hype to present himself as a more sympathetic character to the fans and media? There's also news that the proposed forced reduction in non-GP-weekend testing (and the inability to test the "two-tracks-in-one" at Indy) may actually *raise* costs instead of lowering them, as the "haves" spend more and more money on simulations -- we're not talking F12K or GP3, here; this is Cray-rental money. There's no way the smaller teams could keep parity with this technical escalation. Stories at: http://www.autosport.com

Minardi are reported to be considering upping their 2001 budget and buying not only GP3 but also F1 2000. You read it here first. And probably last as well. -- Regards, Bruce Kennewell, Canberra, Australia. --------------------------- Barton Brown <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Autosport reveals that in the heat of the moment at Monza, Schumacher > considered hanging it up -- or is it just hype to present himself as a > more sympathetic character to the fans and media? > > There's also news that the proposed forced reduction in non-GP-weekend > testing (and the inability to test the "two-tracks-in-one" at Indy) may > actually *raise* costs instead of lowering them, as the "haves" spend > more and more money on simulations -- we're not talking F12K or GP3, > here; this is Cray-rental money. And probably last as well.:) No, their accountants have announced they couldn't afford the state of the art PC to run F1 2000 and they only have an 8M Voodoo2 so GP3 h/w mode is out of the question too...
