Yep, I am enjoying EA F1-2000 very much. Besides I suppose maybe only the real Mikas and Schumi's can tell which is a better simulation. But that's not the issue here. I have only this. I've never driven F1 before apart from on the computer and I have no money for anything else right now, so for me, this is THE ONE!! HAHA

Did you realise what you are getting into? I've have now appointed you my driving coach!! hehe. Trailbraking?? I've been watching F1 for years now but I guess I've never really followed the technical aspects as deeply as some chaps like yourself. I tried turning off ABS; it's difficult but I'm gonna keep trying. I'm tapping my brakes and that seems to help somewhat. I can't seem to tap fast enough though. Ok this is a little complicated, but it's ok, I'm gonna print this message and read it more deeply. I am positive this will help me understand better, thanks alot!! :)

Is the LWFF not a good controller? I always thought it was reasonably good. Once again, I can't afford to buy a new one just now, so I shall have to make do with what I have (at least for now), but your suggestions and recommendations will definitely be remembered. > >I watched Schumi run a couple of laps of Interlagos and I don't know > >how these other cars achieve 115mph on the second last long left(after > >the really tight, slow right on top of the hill). > > The real Schumi or the SimSchumi? ;-) The SIMSchumi!! > Don't take the *Real* Schumi as a benchmark; the game might be a bit > off. How did you guess I press ESC??? haha Thanks mate!! > Ruud van Gaal, GPL Rank +53.25 > MarketGraph : http://www.marketgraph.nl > Pencil art : http://www.marketgraph.nl/gallery/ > Car simulation: http://www.marketgraph.nl/gallery/racer/ Hey are you in Amsterdam? If you are, email me. I have a friend there whom you may like to meet (if you like F1 and don't have inside contacts). Of course, I haven't been in contact with him in 6 months but I'll will be re-establishing contact with him. Cheers, M Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Ok ok, I know, some people will say GP2 is better some people will say GPL is better bla bla, but I have EA F1 2000 and I can't afford to buy any other games at the present. Here's my problem. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get the kind of times other cars get during practice or qualifying (let alone the actual race). I went to a some website and people have listed hot laps of 1m11 seconds or so. I can't even break the 1m20s barrier. I have everything set on manual apart from the fact that I have ABS switched on. I'v tried going through the settings (the only real settings I can remotely figure out are downforce and gear rations, which still confuse me somewhat). What is Final Gear?? The manual that came with the game isn't overly helpful in this area. I have a Logitech Wingman Formula Force Steering (not the super-duper latest one). Help oh help me!! I watched Schumi run a couple of laps of Interlagos and I don't know how these other cars achieve 115mph on the second last long left (after the really tight, slow right on top of the hill). Also HOW THE HELL DO I MAKE A GOOD START???? My car always goes into a wheel spin...pffffffft!! So I release the accelerator pedal and then half the group overtakes me!!! BTW, I've never seen this many accidents and spins in a race at interlagos at one go (not me, I expect myself to go into spins, but the other cars!!) Please please point me in the correct directions. Thanks in advance, Manoj You can contact me directly via email at [email hidden] Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

I still like the vertical scroller racer from the C64 (which was a cartridge once), and I recently played Stunt Car Racer in EGA and liked it, lol. It's fun in the end that counts. In the department of *simulation*, there's still some discussion possible, not about which program you like to use/play. ... >I have everything set on manual apart from the fact that I have ABS >switched on. Michael (Schumacher) uses trailbraking it seems, I think ABS won't allow this that easily. Perhaps try turning it off, see if you can get the hang of it without. The manual that came with the game >isn't overly helpful in this area. Final gear is another gear which affects all gears. So if you have: Gear 1: 2.07 ratio Gear 2: 1.50 ratio And final gear: 3.00 ratio Then your ratio from engine rpm to wheel axle rotation for 1st gear is 2.07 * 3.00 = 6.21. So if you're doing 12,000 rpm, that's 2,000 rps (rotations per second), which is 2,000 / 6.21 rotations at the wheel. Mind you, the *force* increases by 6.21 though. So final gear affects all other gears as a simple multiplier. >I have a Logitech Wingman Formula Force Steering (not the super-duper >latest one). A good controller is always worth it for good times. Although 1:20 vs 1:11 is a reasonable lot. Don't rule out general driving guidelines though; theory of driving is good in better driving. >I watched Schumi run a couple of laps of Interlagos and I don't know >how these other cars achieve 115mph on the second last long left (after >the really tight, slow right on top of the hill). The real Schumi or the SimSchumi? ;-) Don't take the *Real* Schumi as a benchmark; the game might be a bit off. Spring rates on F1-2000 seem a bit too high (by a factor of 10 or so), and friction coefficients of tires I have seen are 2.7; I think 1.7 is more what is realistic (am I wrong here?). >Also HOW THE HELL DO I MAKE A GOOD START????
