Just a quick note to say I sat in Jim Clark's '68 49b on Sunday. The
Mechanic with it said it was the car which won at Zandvoort in '67 first
time out , converted to '68 spec. I don't know if this is true or not.
Needless to say I felt like a five year old.

Pete loveley owns the thing....that guy must have made the best deal in
history......

Sure are Sudesh.
I'm actually looking for this kit right now. Actually I have been looking
for some time now. It's a pretty rare beast in the UK these days :-(

Mr. has owned it ever since.....almost. He actually sold it to an English
buyer in the early 1990's but the new owner died before the car was fully
paid for. Mr. Lovely regained ownership, after some legal battles, in
1997.

Hi,
> are there any other modelers in this group?
Because of GPL i became an modeler again ( was one in my early teens )
:-). I already built the 1967 Honda RA 273, 1968 Matra and 1971 Tyrell
from Tamiya and here are still waiting the 1970 Ferrari 312 B, the 1976
Tyrell Sixwheeler and the 1967 Lola T 70 Sportscar to be built ( all
1:12 ). Certainly I'm searching for the 1967 Lotus 49 but can't seem to
find it anywhere...

That sir is certainly a magmanimous gesture.
I'd really appreciate the effort Bruce if it's not too much trouble. I'm
pretty flush right now. I have been decorating my hallway this week and made
a discovery. In the black hole that is my under stairs cupboard, was an old
10 shilling note.
Is that still legal tender over on your side of the ball? <G>

No worries, Mark.
I'll check into the shop on Monday, when I'm back in the city-centre for
work. Actually...if I get a chance I'll give them a call tomorrow and, if
it's there, ask them to hold it 'til Monday. Can't promise anything, of
course, with the place being Canberra's only *real* model/hobby outlet.
As far as the ten-bob note goes, no, they aren't tenderable here now, having
been replaced back in 1966/67. I think that they were usable up to the late
1970's. Keep it for sentimental value,,,it'd be worth more than the Oz
dollar is, anyway! :-)
