Slam head-on into the AI cars entering the turns. That will slow you down. Stay in 4th gear and never brake. Sounds dumb but thats the only way to beat it. Does anyone have any tips (or cheats?) on how to adavance past Beat The Heat-Richmond? The best I finnished is 8th. Is it my imagination or is this one way harder than the rest? Do you downshift in the turns or stay in 4th? Do you brake or just slow down for the turns? Help!!!!

Do not, I repeat, do NOT downshift in the turns. :-) In fact, use the AI as a kind of buffer & lean on them. You can stay into the gas all thru the turns that way, without lifting at all. Took me a long time to beat this one. Stick with it, it'll come. -- Chuck Kandler Windows--computing for the Unwashed Masses Registered Linux User #180746 http://counter.li.org

Beat the Heat is an arcade portion of NASCAR Heat. Just plow into the other AI so you can slow down. Basically just race like an arcade racer, it's made for that :( -- -- Franois Mnard <ymenard> -- May the Downforce be with you... -- http://www.WeRace.net -- People think it must be fun to be a super genius, but they don't realise how hard it is to put up with all the idiots in the world.
I did it the clean way, too, Don -- the "smash-n-bash" method just didn't work for me (I did try doing it that way, with bad results). -- JB In article <ugdy5.1589$[email hidden]>, "Don Burnette" <[email hidden]> wrote:

It actually creates bad habits that you'll have to break later on when you move on to Expert and Hardcore mode. The only "Normal" mode racing I do in Heat in "Beat the Heat." -- Robert
Don't downshift, stay in 4th. You gotta keep moving and passing, cleanly without hitting other cars. Pass on the inside and outside, just keep moving to the front as fast as you can - you'll get it. -- Don Burnette Dburn in N3 and Legends ICQ# 74084566 "Jack B" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:d9Wx5.396$[email hidden]... > Does anyone have any tips (or cheats?) on how to adavance past > Beat The Heat-Richmond? Frank, he was asking for advice from people that play the game perhaps? Btw, plowing into the ai will not help him at this scenario. -- Don Burnette Dburn in N3 and Legends ICQ# 74084566 "ymenard" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:610y5.255195$[email hidden]... > "Jack B" <[email hidden]> wrote > > Does anyone have any tips (or cheats?) on how to adavance past > > Beat The Heat-Richmond? Well, it tool me 2 nights and about 25 tries, but I finally did it! I stayed in 4th gear and I think the key is to stay close behind the pack right off the bat and diving to the inside on turn 1 and bounce off the left side of the AI cars. You need to keep doing that as much as possible, but you have to get a few lucky "bounces" to get it. I was in 5th with 1 lap to go and bounced off the inside of cars in 3rd and 4th on the last turn!
