1) Brake later 2) drive faster 3) start in the back and take them out going into the corners... before they have a chance to do the same to you. Take your pick :o) In article <[email hidden]>, noemail wrote: > Anyone else find that the AI cars clip the rear of your car in the > corners too often, which causes your car to spin out? Anyone else find that the AI cars clip the rear of your car in the corners too often, which causes your car to spin out? Anyone know how to alter the following distance so this doesn't happen so often? -- Nos

This one has potential, but that would turn the game into a destruction derby and I would rather play a Nascar season with proper rules. >Take your pick :o) I pick that some friendly hacker tells me how to alter the following distance. :-) -- Nos

Is the car black and has a 3 on the hood? (or blue and white with a 12...) If so, it's just a testament to the realism in the game... ~daxe

If so, it's just a testament to the realism in the game... I'll look for it. But, I think it's all of the AI cars do it. I know they say Nascar is bumper to bumper racing, but I don't think that is supposed to be literal. -- Nos
In regard to following distance - have you play with your mirror FOV in the options.cfg file? I set it to something high like 130 to eliminate the blind spot. But this seems to have the effect of "objects in mirror are closer than they appear". If you take a quick glance in the mirror and think you're clear, because that #3 behind you looks far enough back, you may not be, so when you come down he clips you. It's obvious in the replay. So you have to lower your mirror FOV, or better yet wait for the spotter to say "clear" (although I don't think the spotters in NH are paid as well as the spotters in N3). What I like about the patch is now, with FF, I can tell when I'm getting clipped on the rear "ad money" panel. I have set my mirror FF to 120, and I'm getting more patient. -- Doug Appleyard "Got us a Dirt Track Date, demolition derby figure 8" -- Southern Culture On The Skids Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

I've only played the demo for a few minutes (buying full version soon), so I can't tell how accurately drafting is modeled, but have you tried moving down and breaking their draft? The draft should theoretically speed both of you up, with the second car running slightly faster. This sounds like what's happening. If you could slow an AI car down like that, it'd be a great feature. Tim

Thx. I'll try the FOV for the mirrors trick and hope it helps. I guess I am maybe coming down on a car that is just inside of me on the bends. I don't have FF so I'm SOL wiith that one.Yes, the spotters in N3 are better and they don't annoy you with "best time yet!" all the time. Or Go!Go!Go!. I thought only the Euro sims used that. Reminds me of watching Italian soccer on the tube. Go-go-go-go-go-go-GOAL!!!!! :-) -- Nos
