Here's some MORE cut-and-paste, from formula1.com. It will be interesting to see how these predictions pan out starting with tomorrow's first practice: "Computer modelling suggests that a Formula 1 car can circle the circuit in about 1.13.00, at an average speed of 127 mph. The cars will reach a top speed of 200 mph plus, just before the entrance to Turn 1. In the slow are as, in particular Turn 9, drivers will be shifting down to first gear in order to take the bend at 55 mph. Speeds will be predominantly high, however, and the drivers will also have to contend with the infamous Indy banking on the final two turns where the new infield circuit joins the oval track for the long start finish straight." To further complicate the situation, NWS forecasts rain for Indianapolis beginning tomorrow and staying that way right through Sunday. Any bets on the number of runners at the finish? There's a (fairly lousy) track map at: http://www.formula1.com/races/fcircuit.html

I had a dream the other night about the US Grand Prix.. Way too many accidents. :) Only 2 cars were running at the end (David Coulthard and Michael Schumacher) Should this occur, I will start using my power for evil. You've all been warned! =) I'd bet they'll be10 runners at the end. and get ready for a surprise... Jacques Villeneuve taking the win! (I've never liked the guy, dunno where that came from) On Thu, 21 Sep 2000 16:49:30 GMT, Barton Brown <[email hidden]> wrote:

Careful -- you wouldn't want anybody to mention that infamous start at the U.S. 500 in Michigan back in '96 . . . ;-) -- JB In article <[email hidden]>, [email hidden] (Target 12) wrote: > >Hehe.
