Re: Nascar3 + ADSL + Phone RIng = Disconnect ?

MTU = Maximum Transmission Unit. However, I would highly suggest having your tel. co. come and take a look. Also... remove the filters and see what happens. I had to remove the filters on mine to work properly. I had terrible noise on my tel. line when I installed ADSL on it. Tel. Company came out... rewired... and it worked perfect. Unfortunately, sometimes the guys who install the tel lines in your home get REALLY lazy in their design/implementation, and you end up with some weird anomolies when running 2 devices on the same line. All of my problems were originated by the tel co. From what I can understand... your ADSL works fine until something else requests the same line (originating from the tel co.). Sounds like your ADSL is working fine... so contact your tel. co. and tell them your problem. If they are hard to get a hold of... contact your local Gov't representative and bitch about the virtual monopolies ;) Cheers, Schumi <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8qfv77$4jm$[email hidden]...

I just got ADSL installed. When running N3 on-line and the phone rings, I get disconnected from the race! Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was the solution. My ISP is so hard to get ahold of I figured I would get a faster response here, although I will contact them also. Some guys said that they needed to turn off call waiting. Thanks for any input, Emil Golen Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Sounds like the MTU has not been removed from your line. Give your phone company a call and they can run a test and tell if it has been removed or not. Kyle <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:8qfp2q$sds$[email hidden]...

Kyle, I've contacted them, but what's an MTU for curiousity sake? On Fri, 22 Sep 2000 06:16:16 -0700, "Regular Racer" <[email hidden]> thus spoke: > Did you install the DSL filters on your phone connections? I was just about to ask the same thing. But, doesn't that depend on the type of DSL technology you are using? One is called splitterless and the other is splittered (or something like that). One requires filters the other I'm not so sure about. I had to put filters on all the phones and it was a bitch because the wall phone I had to take apart, then I had to take apart the casing of the filter and fit it inside the phone itself. Not fun. -- Nos
