LOL! I can't agree or disagree with your opinion(I don't have GP3 yet). But, that's a funny description...<g> Eldred -- Tiger Stadium R.I.P. 1912-1999 Homepage - http://www.umich.edu/~epickett GPL hcp. +49.67 Never argue with an idiot. If you dislike the game so much, I suggest returning it or deleting the warez version from your computer, whichever applies. -- Todd S. What did you really expect, a real car? I mean, you seem to have unreasonable demands for a computer sim. -- Johan N [email hidden]

Unreasonable ?????? I said that I love GPL and GP500...these 2 games do actually exist y'know !!! I own them and play them !!!! So do many others. Therefore, it is actually possible to make a game better than GP3. It's been done.....like 2 or 3 years ago.

Dave... Did I detect a little "sarcasm" in that statement? I wonder when the sim community is going to figure out that we'll never see a racing simulation........of the type and nature we want........from a game developer? The last one was GPL.....it will be the only one! With pixel budgets, minimum system requirements and stockholders who suggest to the employees of the game developer that "profits" are essential.......there's not a single developer stupid enough to spend two years of code and programming department overhead....to produce a "game" that will sell a couple thousand copies...max! Geeesh...all this bitching about "this sim and that sim doesn't do this".........we are just beating our heads on the tarmac! I'm tired of my bloody noses....how about you? It has depth that isn't readily realized. Just my opinion.

Someone posted a thread about the initial reviews in magazines, of GP3. From what the mags were saying, I was expecting the best sim ever. When I first played GPL, after 3 seconds, I said "Wow". Still love it. When I first played GP500, after 3 seconds, I said "Wow". Still love it. When I first played GP3, after 3 seconds, I said "Huh ?" After a few hours, I said "What the fuck were the magazines talking about ? If any reviewer says this game is soooooooooo good, they are lying for some reason." Today, I'm saying, "It seems like this game would have been 'cutting edge' about a year before GPL came out, but not today." Actually, I also said this after 3 seconds, but I'm still saying it today. This game sucks, pure and simple. I give up. Not playing no more. Taking my steering wheel and fucken going home. Scrape, scrape, scrape. (That's the sound of the USB cable scraping along the footpath behind me as I walk home.)
I think it's pretty silly to try and have a constructive debate simply because everyone's view is so subjective. However, I agree that GP3 does improve with some time invested. YMMV. -Nick Rochester <[email hidden]> wrote:

No I'll keep banging away for awhile longer yet. We, I believe do have some impact on the developers. Witness the two upgrades for F12k and GP3. Both due earlier than original planning, if I recall correctly. Most of the improvements in Nascar Heat were NOT aimed at the target audience, the casual gamer, but at what we the elitetist RAS gpl-centric crowd asked for. I do agree we'll never see the budgets allow the development of a great engine again, unless...like the old Strike Commander/Wing Commander/Privateer series from Origin, that the game developer is allowed to spread the cost of such research and testing etc over several titles. Like, for instance...an F1 title, a Nascar Title, another F1 title, a CART title. etc. And wouldn't Touring cars be something if modeled in the style of the current N4 program? Lets keep asking for more....we may not get all of it..but I do beleive we are getting some....and thats improvement and thats why we yell and scream and kick and take our toys and hide in the corner... :) dave henrie "Tom Pabst" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:1ESz5.248642$[email hidden]...
