GPL - TNT2 and D3D rasterizer

Is anyone running GPL with a TNT2 vid card? I have a friend who is buying a new DELL (800MHz P3) and he has it configured with a 32MB TNT2 card. He has not been into any sims up to this point but I think is was hooked after talking GPL for a few laps on my machine (Im using a GeForce 2 GTS which runs GPL just fine). Thanks in advance... I just replaced my 16 MB Voodoo Banshee card this week (which ran GPL at a solid 36 fps) with a 32 MB Guillemot Maxi Gamer TNT2 M64 card. I've realized noticeable improvement in D3D games (F12000, NASCAR Heat, NFSPU, etc.), and I am pleased to say that GPL runs pretty good in D3D mode; I don't run any AI races, so I guess I'm just a "GPLRank hot- lapper," but with no other cars on the track, I get a solid 36 fps just about everywhere on the track in 800 x 600 mode. The graphics look every bit as good in D3D mode as they did in Glide -- maybe better, IMO. I'm running an AMD K6-2 500 (oc'ed to 522 MHz) with 64 MB of RAM, so if you're running a PII or PIII system, you should get better performance with the TNT2. Yep. I run it on a DELL P3-600 with a TNT2 ultra 770 and D3D. Works fine. A solid 36fps except for the very start with a full grid when it drops to 26 or so. Kev [email hidden] wrote:

Hi Bill, You should be fine with the TNT2. My friend bought a voodoo 3 especially for GPL a few days before the D3d patch cam out (DOH!), we tried it with the D3d patch and the TNT2 just before replacing it with a Voodoo 3.
