Finally reloading GPL on my system, PII 450, 128meg ram,
tnt nvidia 8meg and a MonsterII 3dfx card. Revision number
of GPL is 1.0.0. If I remember correctly I need to install
a patch(es)....so which patch(es) do I need and where do I
find them on the web?
Thanks,
Jerry

You need the GPL 1.2 patch and probably the discofix for VROC and the
D3D patch for your TNT card. Also, try http://www.gplea.org/ for tracks
and cars.

find the updated drivers for either my STB nVidia
16meg card (incorrectly stated that it was an 8 meg
card in my original post) or my Monster II 3dfx card.
The graphics honestly suck when I start the game and
I remember having to update my drivers for my cards,
however, I can no longer find them on the net. Any
pointers out there to help me??

Have you applied the D3D rasterizer beta patch from Papyrus? Are you
using DirectX 7.0a? These two things will allow you to utilize the
video hardware you posess. Sounds to me like you're running in
"Software" graphics mode with no hardware acceleration.

Yes, I have installed the rasterizer beta patch.

Yes, I have directx 7.0a
The graphics are blotchy. Large patches of black. What I think I
need are the updated drivers for my MonsterII card but the
Diamond Mulimeadia site doesn't have it anymore :-(((

Thanks everyone! I've patched up to
version 1.2.0.1 and installed DirectX
7. I managed to find the updated drivers
for my Monster 3d II board and now everything
is working great. Again thanks for all the
inputs and help.

No way to live w/o the GPLEA-cars
Also check out the tyrebarn for add-on wheels, if there is enough UMMPH in your
system.

For the STB Velocity 4400 and the Monster II, you want to be downloading
drivers from nVidia and 3dfx, not from STB and Diamond since they no longer
support the cards. Actually STB are now part of 3dfx and I think Diamond
have been bought by someone as well, so that's why the driver releases
dried-up.
nVidia have excellent drivers for the TNT called Detonator 3, which should
be way better than the ones you have, and 3dfx likewise have Voodoo 2
drivers which should be superior to the last Diamond release. The URLs are
www.nvidia.com (click support centre and then drivers) and www.3dfx.com
(drivers->voodoo2).
The V2 will probably run GPL faster than the TNT as well.
