I'm just getting to the point where I'm not crashing as much<g> I like it too. >Any chance of doing the F1 track at Indy.. ? <G> Watkins Glen with the BOOT had better come first!!! ;-)

Indy track has been lingering in my mind for some time now. I got to visit IMS when they were still building the F1 course and I have been considering it ever since. The only thing that has held me back is the knowledge that IMS will not allow it to be posted for long... Im sure of it. Watkins Glen w/ boot sounds interesting though.
But Tim! The web is the proverbial 'Genie in a Bottle'. Just post it at two or three places and the dynamics of the web will do the rest....Just ask Papyrus how sucessful they were in stopping Daytona from being spread all over. But enough of this "Indy Foo Fa Raw" You should be concentrating on MID OHIO! or Road America...these two tracks are BEGGING for an update...the original ICR2 versions are just just too plain and level. -- dave henrie Free the ICR2 source code! hehe, yea I feel the same way. I would love to redo a lot of courses included in the Papy sims... from ICR2 tracks to a lot in N3 that are made wrong. I am compiling my list of remakes starting with the N3 tracks, then I will have to go buy ICR2 again to start on those. I have only a few months to do this as N4 will be out soon enough, then my efforts move to N4 track creating. So far my plans are: - Watkins Glen inner loop fix - Done just not released yet - Martinsville fix - Track is wrong length, couple other tracks like this too - IMS banking fix - N3 track is banked at 12 degrees, should be 9 degrees (easy fix though) - Dega and Tona are incorrect lengths too, but not worth a redo. Will probably move onto a few legends tracks that are begging for a realism update (and then.... someonme just sparked a flame up my butt about a Glen with boot... which I will probably do for N3/NL/and ask Noonan to convert it to GPL as wel)l. If I have enough time, I will then put together a quick IMS-F1 course and see what happens with that. I have been talking to most all the tracks here in CA about doing thier tracks like what I did with Sears99 and 97... all have shown interest and I may do Buttonwillow, Thunderhill, possible remake of Laguna Seca, and I already have plans for Stockton99 Speedway (1/4 mile short tarack, lost of fun). As you can see, I have a full plate. Still have 6 tracks (Desert Winds Oval, Trenton, Glen Fix, Ford Testing track in Texas [4 mile circle], a skidpad, and even a 3 mile conventional oval with speeds rivaling Dega... think if old Atlanta and Dega mated) to be released in the next month or two so keep an eye out. Anyone heard of an oval track in England? Hmmmm *wink* In all seriousness, I would hate to redo a track that I have not been to (Mid Ohio, etc) or at least have the blueprints to (though most can be obtained with a few phone calls). I wouldnt do much better a job then any other guy that guesses at the right numbers. Anyone wanna pay for my flight? I had the blueprints to Mid Ohio at one point. oops :-( On Thu, 28 Sep 2000 04:07:40 GMT, "Dave Henrie" <[email hidden]> wrote:

Hi Tim, This is one great track and has quickly become a favourite of many of the drivers in our league.. (GMSS) It just feels "right" for want of a better word, and it certainly is one of the very best tracks we have in GPL for on-line competition.. A really great job... Any chance of doing the F1 track at Indy.. ? <G> Cheers, Ron Tim McArthur <[email hidden]> wrote in article <39d0ffd5.1160681@news>... > Im not sure if the guys at TWI announced this, but Desert Winds for > GPL was released some time back.
