You can use the handbrake to make the tight turns. It takes a little practice but can be the fast way around. If you remove the cover to your wheel assembly, it is easy to remove the wheel stops, two small plastic rings, and increase your wheel travel. If you do this, I suggest turning off the self-calibration as it slams the wheel against the metal stops when it calibrates. -- don New Programmes for the Converted GPL Tracks http://www.ianparker1.plus.com/gpl/bapom/
A wheel has a slower response than a joystick or gamepad because it actually takes more movement in the wheel (in terms of angle of deflection) to produce the same result. Anytime I even switch between wheels, in fact, my lap times go down until I learn to adapt to the different controller. There's nothing wrong with your wheel -- just adapt your style, learn to brake and steer more smoothly, and incorporate the handbrake when needed (sparingly). Also, remember that you're literally FIGHTING against the forces from your LWFF wheel as you steer into the turns, whereas the gamepad didn't do anything but respond when you twiddled your thumb for turn-in. It's going to SEEM like it's harder to steer as sharply because it's taking more effort on your part, actually, so I would guess that the LWFF is working fine. In short: Practice, practice, practice. - JB In article <ydfA5.455$[email hidden]>, "none" <[email hidden]> wrote: > I was using my Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad to play NFSPU and justgot a > LWFF. I was using my Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad to play NFSPU and just got a LWFF. First thing I notice in NFSPU is that I can't turn as sharp - any way to fix this to make the wheel turn more for the same distance wheel travel ? There are a lot of sharp turns in NFSPU. Thanks.

Don, there is no guarantee that the cable stays on the barrel when doing this. Happened to me once that the cable jumped off (in this stage of assembly), though the assembly seemed to be correct. JensSchumi BTW: Hi None, if the cable is down finally, check out my webpage. On Wed, 27 Sep 2000 07:46:17 -0700, "don hodgdon" <[email hidden]> wrote:
