Just make sure you get the damn thing! It'll drive you nuts at first, but
when you complete those first cleans laps you'll be one happy MF!

Oh boy... we should really get around to producing that FAQ some day, if
only to help ourselves remember.

I don't remember exactly, but I don't think so. Others will have to jump in
here.

It's in the Sierra Originals range now and should therefore still be
available off the shelf, as it were, but Sierra's site is a sure bet.

Should be possible with GPL, IMO, but if you want to branch out into other
sims most require you have your wheel on ID1 in the Game Controllers applet
to function properly.
Most racers I know either own a Logitech Wingman Formula Force (have modify
or use third party pedals), a MS Sidewinder Wheel or a Guillemot Ferrari. If
you both have the horsepower and the cash, an Act Labs Force RS is within
reach. If you want to go non-FF you need to go for a quality one, I've had
all of the cheap ones and they invariably break with the sort of strain
serious simracing puts on them.
Cheers,
Jan.

I've downloaded the demo and messed about with it for a while. It's
challenging and I can see the appeal. Driving with my flightsim set up
is ummmm... 'not optimal' shall we say.
So the questions:
1. The D3D patch, can it be applied to the demo? The software rendered
images are OK but I'd prefer to see the glory. (I've a V770 vid card)
2. Is the full version of GPL available for purchase or download
anywhere? I haven't been able to find a copy anywhere I've looked.
3. I've a Thrustmaster X-Fighter joystick, a WCS throttle and a pair of
RCS rudder pedals plugged into the gameport on the SB Live! card for
flying, can I get a USB wheel/pedal set to plug in and not touch my
flight set up? Any suggested starter wheels?
Thanks for the info.

Someone else pointed me there as well. After not seeing it listed on the
Sierra Sports pages I'd not thought to look in the store. D'oh! It's listed
at $19.95 but is currently Back-Ordered. :-(
Thanks,
David

Office Depot in northern virginny, too. But for $20. Still well worth
it, no question. I bought a couple copies as gifts.
Re: Buying GPL...
I see it on Ebay quite often, going for $10 or so...

If you have a Media Play nearby, they run $9.99. At least they do here
in Detroit.

Get the full game. I have seen it at Office Max.
I recommend a force feedback wheel, it is the icing on the cake with
GL, and will make you a lot more consistent, if not immediately
faster.
The old Logitech FF wheel can be had for US$48 from
www.justdeals.com.
