Having just found a console racing game that's such a good simulation
(Ferrari F355 - Dreamcast) that it "demands" a steering wheel, I find that I
don't have an easy solution to mounting my ACT Labs RS to meet the need. I
use a 26" color television in a corner entertainment center. I have a
wicker chair with cushions that I can easily slide in front of the TV when I
want to do some intense gaming, but it has no way of supporting the RS. Has
anyone seen a chair that's made to allow easy clamping and removal of
steering wheels when needed?
I don't want something bulky, but reasonably comfortable. I may have to
hire a welder to put a frame together to fit the only vision of a design
that I have, but I'm guessing someone has already addressed this and found a
solution less cumbersome than what I have in mind.

Check out Microsim's "Racebase" cockpit:

You can even buy the plans and hardware (you cut your own MDF) for $55
delivered to the US.

Thanks for the lead Barton! Not a bad looking unit. I've got to
convince my significant other that a contraption like this has a place
in our den! If nothing else, this gives me some ideas to work with.

Thanks for this lead. Again, this one looks great! I can see my wife
possibly accepting this one. She wants something that can be used as a
conventional chair (for TV viewing) when no one is racing. I'm not
sure I want to sink that much cash into something like this though.
I'd like to be able to try it out just to see how it will work with the
RS, and how practical it would be when not in use as a racing chair.

Don't forget to tell your SO that the Racebase folds up when not in use!
