GPL GPLEA cockpits, head-riser files, can't find them.

Hello, Just started up again with GPL (sun rises in east..<g>), and have always used the "high-cockpit" files for all cars, except for the Ferrari, and the Brabham (the .3do mode does not work for those 2 cars). First, where are all the GPLEA cockpits? I used to visit GPLEA, and see a -huge- page with all sorts of cockpits, add-ons (high-cockpit, etc..) and both finished and beta. Now, I can find only 3 beta cars, but no cockpits. Guess I'm not up to speed on all the newer things lately. Can someone give me a direct URL to a "slew" of GPLEA cockpits? I did find Lotus and Brabham on another site, but they seem to be older versions (Brabham was not finished). Second, can someone explain exactly what GPLEA car (and perhaps GPLEA "high-cockpit" files) I need for the Ferrari and the Brabham? I asked about this before, and someone did mention I needed complete GPLEA cockpits (for Ferrari/Brabham) to use the high-cockpit files. Be he didn't say which gplea cockpits for these 2 cars. Perhaps this is all quite easy, but I just can't find the dang GPLEA cockpits..<g> Thanks Much!, Matt

You don't need anything other than a 3DO editor and a bit of knowledge. Just open up the car 3DO file and go to to the 'head' root. Edit the very first child node (X = forward/back, Y = left/right, Z = up/down) to move the in-car viewpoint. For bonus credit offset every node under that one by the opposite amount to avoid that 'floaty' feeling. As for dashes, try: http://129.100.29.19/gpl/ http://members.home.net/peteroco/welcome.htm - George

Not a big deal really, but I'd guess there are GPLEA cockpits made for the high-cockpit .3do files.

try our site at http://warpedracing.figc.net/ BUT the figc.net is down - there's a power supply failure in that server and they say it's going to be fixed today.. -- Mika Takala [email hidden] ICQ UIN 14314015 "teehole" <holysmokes!@spammy.net> kirjoitti viestiss news:[email hidden]... > Hello, > > Just started up again with GPL (sun rises in east..<g>), and have > always used the "high-cockpit" files for all cars, except for the > Ferrari, and the Brabham (the .3do mode does not work for those 2 > cars). > > First, where are all the GPLEA cockpits? The high cockpits views are available at Greger Huttu's site http://koti.mbnet.fi/ghuttu/ in the 'other updates' bit. Kev teehole wrote:

Thanks for the help, and links (everyone). I finally found a GPLEA Brabham and Ferrari, and now the head-riser files work fine, although the Ferrari doesn't seem to need it that much. I found lots of dashes/cockpits, etc., but am sticking with finished GPLEA cockpits (I could find only 3 finished GPLEA cockpits; the Ferrari, Brabham, and Lotus, all version 1.02). Now all head-riser files work in all cars. All the other cars? I'll leave them alone for now. I have a Voodoo-3, and don't like the low-res dashes/cockpits. And they really won't help me go any faster, but the head-riser files help a lot. Matt
