I have a Thrustmaster Grand Prix 1 wheel with CH Pedals. I was able to map the pedals to "A" and "Z" characters, respectively, for acceleration and braking using RBJoy.exe. The setup works great, but I'd like to tweak it a little, if possible. The braking is a little too sensitive, causing me to lock my wheels if I'm not too careful. Does anyone have experience in using RBJoy.exe with GP3? Anyone with recommended setups? Thanks in advance. -- T.M.K.

Exactly the same hardware as you, including rbjoy, but evidently not as clever as you. Could you give me a step by step on how you set it up? (For the life of me I can't get the pedals to get recognized by GP3- it only sees the wheel paddles as the y axis, not the ch pedals, when I calibrate the joystick within the program.) Under the "common" page, make sure the con direc is activated. Each Axis page can be turned on or off. For GP3 I have turned on the following pages: X+ and X- for steering, Y+ and Y- for the paddles, R+ and R- for the rudders, and Buttons 1 and 2 for shifting. Naturally, everything should first be calibrated in the Windows Control panel. For the X+ and X- pages and the Button 1 and 2 pages, make sure nothing else is activated - in other words, you just want the wheel and buttons to function as normal. For the R+ and R- pages, activate the SEND SINGLE KEY as character "A" and character "Z" keys, respectively, for your accelerator and brakes. For the Y+ and Y- pages, activate the SEND SINGLE KEY as OEM PLUS and OEM MINUS, respectively. Make sure you have the checkbox marked for SEND SINGLE KEY if you want your rudders and paddles to activate these keys. To run a quick test, keep rbjoy running, open Notepad and work your pedals. If you see AAAAAA's and ZZZZZZZZ's on the screen, then you got it working. In GP3 setup your steering wheel as normal. Your brake and accelerator should be set to A and Z. And your ready to race. One more thing. You can now use your paddles to zoom your driving view in and out as you race. Comes in handy when you need a wider view for those tight turns at Monaco. Good luck. -- T.M.K. Thanks T.M.K., it works - kind of. Unless I'm doing something wrong (very possible) the A and Z keys are set to switched (either completely on or off). Touching the accelerator essentially floors it and the same with braking. It very difficult to not spin out. One workaround is to use the throttle assistance but that's only temporary-and doesn't help with the brake. Do you notice the same complete on-off situation? Somehow I'd like to simply convert the y axis from the paddles to the pedals. At one time I did have this setup, but loaded Win ME and lost it. Ideas? Don

Glad it works. And yes, its very touchy. That's what generated my original post - to see if there was someone with more experience with RBJoy. I plan to do some more experimenting. If I can slow down the rate at which the keys are repeated, I might be able to make the pedals less sensitive. I still have the setup and configuration for using the paddles as brake and throttle. The wheel is calibrated in windows 98 with the paddles as the y-axis forward and back, so it was a matter of designating the accelerating and braking in GPS to the y-axis. -- T.M.K.
