Blow away in what way? Visually? Or speed? On Mon, 2 Oct 2000 14:43:01 -0500, "ydoucare" <[email hidden]> wrote:

how does the VooDoo3 AGP 3000 (which I'm leaning towards) compare with the GeForce2 and the Hercules Prophet II (all in the same price point) ? I'd love to get a Voodoo 5 but I can't afford it. I'm staying away from ATI and their Radeon becuase I know in a year or so I'll have trouble getting drivers for the next Microsoft OS release. (Which has been the case with EVERY ATI board I've owned thus far...)

Any GeForce 2 will blow away the Voodoo 3....GF2's are a generation ahead. Even GeForce 2 MX's will beat out Voodoo 3's and Voodoo 4's "Mustang" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Both, Voodoo 3's only render up to 256x256 sized textures at 16bit max. GeForce 2's can render 512x512 + at 32bit, in some games that makes a dramatic difference....not to mention having a much better framerate than a V3. Look around for some benchmarks....GeForce 2 MX's beat out Voodoo 4's in framerate and the MX is a slower version of the GTS "Mustang" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

How is driver stability? My research today has shown that to be a concern. (Newsgroups). This is VERY important for me. (Win98 for games, Win2k for everything else). Be honest. On Mon, 2 Oct 2000 18:02:24 -0500, "ydoucare" <[email hidden]> wrote:

Running a 64MB GF2 GTS with the Detonator3 drivers and my system is rock solid. Haven't run into any driver problems in the two months I've been using the card. In article <[email hidden]>, Mustang <[email hidden]> wrote:
