According to the e-mail that I got from RatBag, Oct. 4 is the date.

If you're anxiously awaiting the release of the DTRSC demo, then here's
something to help tide you over -- I just received the latest issue of
Car & Driver, and there's a GREAT article on Steve Kinser titled "Brown
Dirt, Green Money, Black Moods," written by C&D editor John Phillips.
Here's an excerpt to whet your appetite:
"Sprint-car racing is a uniquely American invention, like jazz and
baseball and those sparkles you find in some brands of toothpaste. It
is uniquely American in its violence, too. The one-speed cars, which
look like scaffolding with tires, weigh as little as 1150 pounds --
there is no weight rule at all -- and their fuel-injected V-8s, costing
$38,000 apiece, produce as much as 800 horsepower. Which means they're
as powerful as CART Indy cars but 500 pounds lighter. On Dirt. On
tracks that range from a quarter- to a half-mile in length. No two
tracks are alike, except that all have occasionally spit sprint cars
over the wall to land sputnik-style in darkened parking lots."
When's the release date for the DTRSC demo, again?

In addition to some good inside info on sprint car racing in general,
the article also provides a good look at what makes Steve Kinser tick.
It's a must-read if you're into sprints, IMO (that's the November
issue, BTW, which may not be on the newsstands just yet -- the cover
story is "Toyota Thunder," featuring a picture of Rod Millen's
screaming yellow 500-hp AWD Celica).
Now, how about that demo, huh?

I wouldn't expect too much - Ratbag haven't got the faintest idea what car
physics are all about. Our local magazines here in Australia rave about
these guys (because their Australian) but in truth, all of their games have
been turkeys. Colin McRae Rally 2 is the one I'm waiting for as far as dirt
racing goes.

Ummm....what game where you playing ...it certainly wasnt dirt track racing

Wombat indeed!
You could be excused not having experienced DTR which was highly
acclaimed and had an excellent physics model due to the fact that it was
(ironically) never actually released in Australia, but I believe
Powerslide and DTR were both moderately priced and both sold very well.
Cheers,
Rod.
