I seem to be having problems connecting to WinVROC, and am hoping that
someone can help out.
Whenever I try to join a race (whether passworded or not), it starts to
load GPL, but then I get the dreaded bluescreen and the message says
that "An exception in VxD VWin32(01) has occured and that it was called
from VxD VKD(01)". When I hit CNTRL-ALT-DEL, I get a message that that
the system is busy. Another CNTRL-ALT-DEL shows the running programs
and indicates that GPL is not responding. The only way out is one fibal
CNTRL-ALT-DEL to reboot.
GPL runs fine offline, and WinVROC is pointing to the correct directory
(c:\sierra\gpl\). I've turned off all background programs using
EndItAll, and I still have this problem.
I'm dialing in on a 56K US Robotics external modem (not a WinModem).
Any ideas/thoughts to deal with this would be greatly appreciated!
DUH! I think I answered my own question with a little further
investigation. I was trying to enter races which were not meant for my car
class. I was trying to enter F1 (ie-GG) races as an F2 driver. (However,
even when I switched to an F1 driver, I still couldn't enter -- hmmm....)
As an F2 driver, I was able to successfuly log into 3G and 2G races, so I
guess that was it -- whew.
I still have one question though. I know that green is an open race, blue
is a passworded race, red is a race that started already. But what does an
orange or amber color mean?
Thanks.

death. Go here and have read of this page and get the file if you need it
and run it
http://www.gplonline.com/Tech-Talk/DeviceDrive/devicedriver.htm
it should help with your system instability. As for the orange races they
are either a high ping or the race is in transition, meaning the qualifying
time is up and waiting for the last guy to cross the line.

However, I'm running Win95 OSR2, not Win
98. Will that patch still help me, or screw up my system even more?
