Be sure that you have shut off any backround applications, screensavers etc.

New GPL Programs for the Converted Tracks:

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be
misquoted, then used against you.
I been playing GPL on and off for a while now on my system (P2 333;
64mb) but have only recently installed it on another system (not mine)
with much greater capabilities (P3 733: 128mb; MS force feed back
wheel). The difference is phenomenal- not just with the improved
performance but with the improved control; on my P2 I use a Virtual
Pilot Pro control yoke (push in for Throttle- pull for brake etc.). My
lap times improved dramatically needless to say.
But I do have a problem. Even with the faster system GPL still wants to
kick me out of the game, usually at the most inopportune moments- with
no warning it will boot me out to windows. I had this problem with my
P2 but I assumed that the P3 with have more than enough to handle the
sim. I've tried nearly everything I can think of (lowering the graphics-
within reason- and limiting the number of cars within reason). I don't
want to take the graphics down too far because I depend on parts of them
as reference points on the track, and besides, I shouldn't have to. A P3
733 with 128mb should be more than enough to run this with everything
turned to maximum.
The version I'm currently running is just out of the box (ver 1.0)-
no patches or additions to the basic program. Is this a common problem?
Is there a patch that will correct the problem? I love running this sim
but it's getting a little aggravating.
Thanks in advance
Tim
I've never had this problem myself but your system is more than
capable of running it. I use a 600 with 128mb and run full graphics.
Just a wild guess but check that you aren't having any conflicts with
sound card/ video cards.

Are you using a Voodoo 2 (or3)? I had initial problems with my Voodoo 2 and
GPL, try downloading the latest drivers from www.3dfx.com if you have one of
their cards. You should also download the 1.201 patch from www.papy.com.

My GPL ver. 1.0 used to kick me out too -- 450 PII, 3dfx 2000.
the 1.2 patch seemed to cure all the little video bugs and that kick
out to win stuff -- I haven't tweaked anything since. Might help
yours??
