Hey, it takes a lot of $$$ to keep up with Brooke.
Looks like Jeff Gordon isn't the only one willing to prostitute his
good name for a bad video game -- the demo for "Nelson Piquet's Grand
Prix Evolution" is only 28.5 MB, but I haven't been able to convince
myself to download it yet (so I guess I'm wrong to criticize it
prematurely, but it doesn't look too promising):
"The 2100 Gran Prix Evolution Championship tracks are located on
various different locations on Earth and Moon, the vehicles are
completely closed and you'll wear pressurized suits to sustain the
incredible acceleration and g-forces during the race."
Go here for more info and the demo download:

The only potential good part could be that it looks like it may use the
"Deathkarz" game engine, which featured sim-like futuristic arcade
racer gameplay and fast, smooth graphics. Of course, it could be just
another rehash of the old "Ulitm@te Race Pro" game engine, for all I
know.
Anybody been brave enough to try this one yet?

That is so stupid. They introduced pressurized suits in 2088, but they
didn't fully enclose the cockpits until the Sea Of Tranquility Grand Prix in
2109. I'd NEVER drive anything so historically innacurate!

Hookay, this means we will have successfully emulated the BMW M power *Turbo
Lag* of Nelsons championship chariot?

Why oh why isn't there a decent conversion of any of the PS Wipeout
games on the PC?
Andrew.
If you want the BMW M power turbo of Nelson in 83 you got to use the special
extra cheating fuel they had in these days......
I just downloaded it to give it a try, and it is something of a Wipeout
clone, but there is some sense of physics to it (you feel like you're
floating, and like you're SUPPOSED to be floating), and the graphics
are pretty impressive. GREAT sense of speed, too. It's still an
unfortunate use of Piquet's name, though, but if they'd put wheels on
it and get rid of that stupid, annoying, contrived "magnetic hovercar"
aspect, this game has the potential to be a decent arcade racer.
